Choose the best yoghurt for your child

The best yogurt is not the skimmed, 0% fat, fiber, with pieces of fruit, flavored, natural, etc… In the supermarket fridges we can find dozens of types of yogurt. Although it is a very simple and ‘lifelong’ food, the food industry has been introducing into the market variations to suit the consumer; but only one can win in the ‘game of thrones’ of health.

Real yogurt is a fermented dairy product that provides probiotics, improves intestinal microbiota and digestion. It also provides calcium, potassium, vitamins A, B5, B6, B12, C, D, K, zinc and magnesium. It is low in sugar and high in protein. Excellent food for lunch boxes and snacks.

So, what is the most important thing to consider when buying yogurt for our children? 

If we ask ourselves which is the healthiest yogurt on the market, the answer is that we must: The first thing is to check the list of ingredients:

A good yogurt should only have: hygienized or pasteurized whole milk, lactic cultures and/or probiotics.

The rest is optional, it is not necessary. Avoid those that have starches, thickeners, gelatins, artificial flavorings and colorings in their ingredient list.
